Classical Ayurvedic Massage Treatments
This specialist style of massage generally involves long, sweeping strokes of the body (or area) with large amounts of warm herbal oil. The pressure, speed and type of strokes and the temperature/ type of oil used will be tailored to your needs in accordance with Ayurvedic principles. In Ayurveda, massage is considered a way of treating and healing the body as the properties of various herbs and oils diffuse into the bloodstream through the skin.

Unless you have a medical condition which means that a particular massage is not suitable for you, each massage can involve:
  • classical oil massage
  • oil massage with energy/ pressure point work**
  • oil and herbal powder massage**
  • oil massage with herbal poultices**
** 15 minutes to be added to minimum treatment time for these options

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage
This is a form of deep tissue massage which combines traditional Indian deep tissue techniques with yoga based stretching therapies. It has many similarities to Thai massage and is classically performed using the therapist's hands, arms and feet whilst you are lying or sitting on a mattress or folded duvet on the floor. A mixture of calamus root powder and a carrier oil is normally used.

Holistic Massage
This soothing, deeply relaxing massage of the whole body involves the application of oil using slow movements and light to moderate pressure tailored to your needs.

Calmer Chameleon's Mindful Massage
This is my unique, signature massage style and my preferred way of working. I work intuitively and mindfully with you, combining the different massage techniques I have learnt to provide a truly bespoke treatment tailored to your needs. Where needed/ desired, I can also incorporate some guided meditation during the massage to promote the integration of the body and the mind in the healing process.

Before any massage treatment, you will be asked to complete a short consultation form and have a brief (10-15 minute) consultation with me, so that I can better understand your general state of health, preferred style of massage and any specific needs you have. This helps me to make sure the treatment or session is properly tailored to your needs. It is also a great opportunity for you to get to know me and ask any questions you may have. Where possible, I try to do this before our treatment time so that we can focus on your treatment on the day, and so that (where required) you have time to check with your GP that you can go ahead with the massage.
